- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with Deaf and Hard of Hearing (EC-12) certification, or eligibility to obtain certification/permit prior to start date
- Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language and/or listening and spoken language methodology, as appropriate to caseload needs
- Knowledge of language acquisition and literacy development in deaf and hard of hearing children
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs
