Responsibilities EVS Techs provide a safe care environment for patients and staff within their assigned areas by demonstrating the principles of cleaning, disinfection, and quality assurance to reduce harmful pathogens. They maintain contact with patients and visitors, providing educational and safety-related guidance appropriate to the demographics of the service area. The role includes ensuring timely room turns to support patient throughput while following environmental hygiene and infection prevention standards. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas and equipment to ensure compliance with mandated regulatory agencies and established Hazelden policies and procedures. Participate in daily interactions with unit staff and patients to provide a supportive environment. Ensure timely room turns related to patient throughput in accordance with basic principles of environmental hygiene and infection prevention. Qualifications Current CPR and First Aid certification or obtain within 30 days. Certification must be from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association. Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST). At least 1 year of health care environmental services experience.
