Field Service Engineer, Meat Midwest NA

Salary: $70,720 - 91,520 per year Requirements:

• We are looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer with hands-on knowledge of JBT Marel equipment or a comparable platform.
• We expect a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Software Engineering, or an equivalent level of technical expertise; a technical college degree is preferred.
• Product training in food processing equipment is preferred.
• We need a strong communicator who can work well under pressure, think analytically, and operate effectively in a multicultural, multidisciplinary environment.
• We require excellent written and spoken English, along with solid computer literacy, good grammar, and strong interpersonal skills.
• We value technical competence in an engineering discipline, customer-facing service skills, commercial awareness, social perceptiveness, and the ability to meet KPIs and deadlines.
• Candidates must reside in the Midwestern United States.

• We provide field service support at customer sites, including troubleshooting, repairs, installations, maintenance, customer training, and general technical assistance.
• We prepare for installation and maintenance visits, deliver aftercare for new installations, and maintain close communication with customers while reporting progress.
• We keep our technical skills current so we can install, diagnose, repair, train, and perform routine maintenance on JBT Marel equipment and solutions.
• We plan and document site visits carefully, updating customer support coordinators and field service administrators to support the best possible customer outcome.
• We prioritize work based on business and customer needs, ensuring a confident, empathetic, and professional service experience.
• We escalate service issues promptly when delivery is at risk, following our internal procedures to secure the right customer support.
• We follow our standard service workflow by meeting customers on arrival, receiving briefings, executing agreed work, managing the customer experience, identifying sales and service opportunities, validating installed base data, processing time and expenses, completing technical reports, and keeping stakeholders informed.
• We notify Customer Support and the customer of arrival times when outside the expected window, confirm work orders with the resource planner, debrief customers on completed work and machine performance, and report quality issues or non-conformities.
• We may mentor junior Field Service Engineers and provide basic training as needed.
