A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ENROLLMENT & MATCHING SPECIALIST A typical week includes interviewing families and volunteers in their homes, collaborating with teammates to create meaningful matches, facilitating new friendships through match introductions, documenting assessments, and celebrating new matches as a team. You’ll help children feel seen, families feel supported, and volunteers feel confident and prepared as they begin a life-changing match through the BBBSKC program.

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Enrollment and Matching, the Enrollment and Matching Specialist is a full-time, exempt position responsible for enrolling children (Littles) and volunteers (Bigs) into the program, which consists of conducting in-home interviews for both Littles and Bigs throughout the greater Kansas City area.Additionally, the EMS will facilitate new match introduction meetings in the home of the child.This is a fast-paced position that requires flexibility in scheduling to accommodate the schedules of the Parent/Guardians of the Littles as well as the Big. On average this position requires 3 to 4 evenings per week and/or weekend day. Flexible daytime scheduling when evening work is required and, once fully trained, staff manage their own appointments week to week. This position is ideal for professionals with social work or case management experience who enjoy community-based, relationship-centered work outside of traditional clinical settings.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Work to meet monthly individual goals around matches made and children and volunteers processed in a timely manner. Travel within assigned areas across the Greater KC region (six counties) to conduct pre-scheduled home visits with potential Bigs, Littles, and Parents/Guardians. All visits follow established safety protocols, with ongoing supervisor guidance and support. Complete detailed assessments and written summaries for each child and volunteer enrolled. Schedule and facilitate Match Introduction Meetings, which will take place at the child’s home. Maintain timely and accurate documentation to support match readiness and transition to the Match Support Team. Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth and supportive enrollment and matching process. Attend match activities and waiting littles’ events as needed. Participate in required department and agency meetings and special events. Evening and weekend time will be required to accommodate our families and volunteers’ schedules as needed All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree required, or Associate’s Degree and two years of relevant work experience, or high school diploma/GED equivalent and four years of relevant work experience A minimum of one year of experience in a social work or case management setting. A valid driver’s license, and an insured vehicle Experience in providing advice, coaching and/or working with both adults and youth strongly preferred Experience with home visits is a plus but not required Bilingual in Spanish/English is preferred A familiarity with Salesforce is a plus but not required All applicants must submit to and pass a background check

COMPENSATION

Based on performance, this position is eligible for promotion to Senior Enrollment & Mapping Specialist at one year, which includes a $2,000 raise.
