Play Yard Maintenance

Broward County Animal Care

Play yard maintenance volunteers help ensure that all outdoor dog areas remain clean, safe, and enjoyable for both dogs and dog walkers. Their work directly supports enrichment, safety, and the overall well-being of the animals, without requiring any animal handling.

Responsibilities

Keep dog play yards, meet-and-greet areas, and walk pathways free of debris, weeds, hazards, broken toys, and toy stuffing.
Pressure wash the play yard and dog pools as needed.
Collect unbroken toys and take them to the laundry area for sanitation.
Restock toy boxes.

Requirements

Must be 16 years or older
Complete the Fear Free Course, which will be provided, to help you feel confident and supported in your role.
No experience needed-this role is perfect for animal lovers of all backgrounds, and training will be provided to help you succeed. Be prepared for some physical activity, such as bending, lifting, and sweeping, to ensure you are comfortable with the physical demands of yard maintenance.
