Job Description

ProSidian seeks a Mid-Level InfoSec Security Engineer (Focus On Network Security) Consultant focusing on Cyber-Security/Information Security (INFOSEC) and IT Effectiveness Solution related issues, to support and maintain the Information Technology (IT) and Service Support Structures on behalf of a Federal Agency INFOSEC Directorate. INFOSEC provides a wide range of information security support services to client Members, Committees, Leadership Offices, and staff. The primary objective is to ensure the continued operation of the systems that protect the Client Agency network against unauthorized access, modification of data, and malicious activity. These systems require continuous management and monitoring to ensure they are functioning as expected and to analyze and respond to alerts as they occur. The selected Mid-Level InfoSec Security Engineer (Focus On Network Security) Consultant will work collaboratively as part of a team of six personnel for on-site support to work The Federal Agency INFOSEC Directorate. This position may require the ability to work shifts, and be on-call, to provide 24/7 technical support for the Client Agency Information Security Technology Infrastructure.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The Client Agency has established a security architecture consisting of high availability, load balanced systems providing the necessary protection required for The Client Agency assets. The On-Site Mid-Level InfoSec Security Engineer (Focus On Network Security) Consultant will primarily provide support to INFOSEC as described above, Monday-Friday excluding Federal holidays, during an eight-hour shift. This position may require the ability to work alternate hours as required to provide technical support for The Client Agency information security technology infrastructure. This position may require travel on an as-needed basis. Travel time should be less than 4% of the period of performance.

Qualifications

Qualifications For Mid-Level InfoSec Security Engineer (Focus On Network Security): INFOSEC requires a Mid-Level InfoSec Security Engineer (Focus On Network Security) to provide support in the following tasks: -Configure and optimize security configurations for network hubs, routers, and switches (e.g., higher-level protocols, tunneling, etc.). -Diagnose cybersecurity impacts to network connectivity problems. -Expand or modify security configurations of network infrastructure to serve new purposes or improve workflow. -Implement new system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards that maximizes cybersecurity functionalities of networking components. -Install, secure, and maintain network infrastructure device operating system software (e.g., IOS, firmware, etc.). -Install or replace network hubs, routers, and switches. -Integrate securely new systems into existing network architecture. -Monitor network capacity and performance for impact to cybersecurity operations. -Identify and monitor the patching of network vulnerabilities to ensure information is safeguarded against outside parties. -Provide feedback on network cybersecurity requirements, including network architecture and infrastructure. -Knowledge of VPN security. -Propose new technologies or procedures that could be used to advance the ability to detect and mitigate malicious activity. -Perform other official duties as assigned.

• Business Tools – understanding and proficiency with business tools and technology, including Microsoft Office. The ideal candidate is advanced with Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word, and proficient with Adobe Acrobat, data analytic tools, and Visio with the ability to quickly learn other tools as necessary.
