Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Lab ManagerGolden Star Labs is leading the industry in science and innovation to better support communities and institution's testing needs across the United States. We are looking for an experienced CLS with a microbiology or generalist classification to join our team to carry out laboratory tests and analytical processes in order to detect SARS-CoV-2.Principal AccountabilitiesThe role holder is responsible for the operational delivery of a quality SARS-Cov-2 laboratory testing program, executing best practices and measuring performance through agreed uponDevelops appropriate supply chain strategy to mitigate any issues with consumable supplies and ensures supply meets testing demands and forecastsDelivery of improved operational flow to increase capacityImplementation of quality control processesCollaborates with external consultants when neededDefines improved equipment & technology for increased test service capacityDevelops and/or implement the appropriate laboratory safety policies and procedures, training, and adherenceAssist with hands on testing proceduresDevelops standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Risk Assessments for all operational process flows from sample receipt through to result interpretationTimely and accurate completion of all documentation and analysesTo strictly adhere to CDC precautions and correct use of PPEPrimary point of contact of the client management team and White Label teamEscalation of any issues or problems to the Operations/Account ManagerParticipate in the recruitment of new team membersResponsible for planning daily, weekly workload in alignment with project timeline and ensuring issues are recorded and communicated appropriately.Responsible for managing the team to be in compliance with HR processes (oversight of holidays, sickness, etc)Ensure all team members are fully trained in all aspects of their roles prior to execution of any tasksEnsure that all activities performed by his/her team adhere to all standards safety and security standardsThe role holder is accountable for ensuring that all activities are delivered demonstrating behaviors and values aligned to WLCL Code of Conduct and supporting policies, standards and procedures; including accountability for complaint management of Budget, Safety, Health and EnvironmentCommunication with key stakeholders on the progress against the deliverables and timelineQualifications and Experience/EssentialMaster's degree in a chemical, physical, biological science along with at least 8-10 years practical experienceExperience working in a SARS-Cov-2 Laboratory and practical set-upHave good knowledge of microbiology, ideally virology and diagnostic techniquesHave extensive experience of high-volume microbiology or virology testing in a laboratoryCompetent in the use of LIMS or equivalent IT platformsGood understanding of OSHA, COLA, CAP and CLIA regulations and requirementsExperience in developing SOPs and Risk AssessmentsProject management skills, ability to be flexible and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks on a regular basisExperience of working with Quality Management SystemsProven customer service focus, ability to work collaborativelyExcellent problem-solving capabilities and confidence to make clear decisions sometimes with limited informationExceptional planning and organizational skills with excellent attention to detailEfficient using Microsoft office – e.g., Outlook, Excel, WordExcellent communication skills to be able to work across a fast-paced organizational teamExperience of managing/supervising teams including trainingLean methodologiesEducation and CertificationMasters or PhD in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory scienceClinical Laboratory Scientist LicenseDesirableExperience working in a GXP environmentLIMS Super user
