Job Description

Position Summary

The Restaurant Server is responsible for delivering exceptional dining experiences by providing attentive, friendly, and efficient service to guests. This position ensures accurate order taking, timely food and beverage delivery, and adherence to established service standards while creating a welcoming and memorable atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

• Greeting guests promptly and professionally upon arrival
• Presenting menus, explaining menu items, specials, and promotions
• Making recommendations and answering questions regarding food and beverage offerings
• Providing personalized, attentive service throughout the dining experience
• Anticipating guest needs and responding promptly to requests
• Addressing guest concerns professionally and notifying management when necessary
• Accurately taking food and beverage orders and entering them into the POS system
• Serving food and beverages according to established service standards
• Ensuring orders are prepared and delivered correctly and in a timely manner
• Monitoring guest satisfaction and checking back regularly during service
• Upselling menu items, beverages, desserts, and specialty offerings
• Delivering checks and processing payments accurately
• Complying with all alcohol service regulations and responsible beverage service practices
• Setting up dining areas, tables, and service stations before service periods.
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization of assigned stations and dining areas
• Completing side work, opening duties, and closing responsibilities
• Assisting with resetting and preparing tables for incoming guests
• Maintaining knowledge of menu changes, daily specials, and restaurant promotions
• Following all food safety, sanitation, and company policies
• Supporting team members and assisting other restaurant areas as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous restaurant, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred
• Knowledge of food and beverage service standards preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Basic math, cash-handling, and POS system skills
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Food Handler and Alcohol Service certifications as required by local regulations

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to carry trays and lift up to 30 pounds
• Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying
• Ability to work in a busy restaurant environment with varying noise levels
