Reports To: CAD SupervisorDepartment: OperationsDirect Reports: NoneFLSA Status: ExemptJob Grade:  Summary: Responsible for generating customer and production drawings for use in the proposal and manufacturing processes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and are not limited to:Create construction drawings, 3D models, and electrical schematics in SolidWorks as requiredProduce timely and accurate drawings and submittals in accordance with company standards and customer specificationsProvide full and accurate material lists to project management and purchasingCreate, and maintain 3D model, and 2D drawing librariesEffectively communicate with sales, project management, production, and supervision concerning technical functional questionsWork together with all departments to provide excellent customer experiencePerforms other duties as assigned.Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/Experience:Associates degree or combination of education and work experience in a similar position and/or discipline. BS Degree preferred. Skillful in SolidWorks 3D software. 3 years' experience in drafting required. Experience in reading construction drawings preferred. Strong attention to detail is a must.Computer Skills:Strong computer skills including: SolidWorks, QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel (VBA experience a plus), Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and ACT!Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret working drawings and specifications. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Skilled communications. Mathematical / Analytical Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Knowledge of basic electrical calculation, applicable codes and standards, rules and regulations.Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
