Retail Staff Pharmacist in Winchester, KY

Job Description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A retail pharmacy located in Mount Sterling, Kentucky, is seeking a dedicated Staff Pharmacist to join their team. This position offers both part-time and full-time opportunities, providing flexibility to accommodate various schedules. The pharmacy operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

The ideal candidate will be licensed in Kentucky with recent retail pharmacy experience and comfortable managing a busy environment with approximately 3,000 prescriptions processed weekly. Strong technician support is available, with two pharmacists and five to six technicians staffing weekdays, and one pharmacist with three to four technicians on Saturdays. Housing will be covered by the client, making this role accessible for both local candidates and travelers.

Key Responsibilities:

Verify prescriptions and ensure accuracy in dispensing medications
Provide patient counseling and respond to medication-related inquiries
Oversee daily pharmacy workflow and support pharmacy technicians
Utilize PioneerRx software for prescription processing and management
Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations
Deliver exceptional customer service to patients and colleagues
Assist with scheduled Saturday coverage

Desired Qualifications:

Active Kentucky Pharmacist license in good standing
Recent retail pharmacy experience preferred
Familiarity with PioneerRx system is a plus
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
Capability to manage a high-volume pharmacy setting
Availability to work 1 to 2 Saturdays per month
