Pharmacy Program Specialist - Pharmacy

Responsibilities Support and assist in the coordination of Pharmacy Services activities including preparation of sterile compounds both hazardous and non-hazardous using aseptic technique, compounding pharmacy maintenance and scheduled cleanings, inventory management of drugs and infusion supplies, ordering, stocking and receiving of medications and supplies, processing specialty orders, and maintaining and stocking automated dispensing machines (ADM) where applicable. Job responsibilities consist primarily of preparation of hazardous agents such as chemotherapy, anti-neoplastics, biological and hormone agents including investigational research drugs. Proficient in USP regulatory 797 and 800 standards in the maintenance of the IV room. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED Upon hire: California Pharmacy Technician License 3 years of pharmacy practice (6,240 hours) in an integrated health system or sterile compounding experience and PTCB certification, or 4 years (8,320 hours) of experience if technician does not have PTCB certification Preferred Qualifications Coursework/Training: Pharmacy technician program Coursework/Training: Sterile compounding and hazardous drug coursework PTCB certification PTCB certificate in Hazardous Drug Management Specialty certification (e.g., ACPE-approved sterile compounding certification), where applicable by role and state Oncology experience or hospital work experience base Equal Opportunity Employer Statement Providence is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
