Overview
The Quality Assurance Manager leads all food safety and quality programs within a food manufacturing facility. This role ensures compliance with FDA, USDA, FSMA, and GFSI-recognized standards (SQF, BRC, IFS), while driving continuous improvement and a strong food safety culture across operations.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with production to ensure consistent product quality and food safety
Manage non-conforming products, including evaluation, disposition, and corrective actions
Audit and enforce GMPs, sanitation, and quality standards across production and warehousing
Lead, coach, and develop QA supervisors and team members
Oversee HACCP plans, food safety programs, and prerequisite programs (SSOPs, allergen control, traceability)
Monitor and analyze quality metrics to identify trends and drive improvements
Deliver food safety and regulatory compliance training to plant employees
Ensure compliance with FSMA, HACCP, GMPs, and customer requirements
Serve as primary contact for FDA/USDA inspections and third-party audits (SQF, BRC, IFS)
Escalate food safety and quality risks to senior leadership
