The Accountant will play a key role in the accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting for Armstrong Utilities and Armstrong Telecommunications. The selected individual will be a highly motivated, results-oriented professional who is an innovative thinker. The applicant must have strong analytical, problem resolution, and collaboration skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and communicate effectively.Prepares journal entries in accordance with generally accepted accounting principlesPrepares accounting records and reviews transactions for accuracy, adequacy of supporting documentation, and compliance with company policyReviews weekly Accounts Payable batches to ensure proper account coding and adherence to company policyMonitors, analyzes, and reconciles general ledger accountsActively supports the annual budgeting process and financial auditProactively identifies areas for potential improvement in the Finance & Accounting DepartmentPerforms other duties and responsibilities as assignedWhat You'll NeedBachelor's Degree in AccountingOne to five years of progressive accounting experienceAnalytical skills and an innovative approach to problem solvingAbility to adapt to changing demands and needsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsStrong technical skills and ability to learn new applications and reporting toolsAbility to prioritize tasks in a fast paced environmentAt Armstrong, we offer more than a job!
