Summer Office Assistant (Customer Service & Operations Support)

W.B. Guimarin & Co., Inc., a leading mechanical contractor serving South Carolina for more than 100 years, is seeking a motivated and organized Summer Administrative Assistant to support our Service and Construction Operations teams. This position offers valuable hands‑on experience for individuals interested in business administration, customer service, construction operations, project management, or office administration. Responsibilities Answer incoming phone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate department Greet and assist visitors, customers, vendors, and applicants arriving at the office Provide administrative support to customers, field employees, project teams, and office staff Create, update, reconcile, and maintain purchase orders for Service Operations and Project Teams Communicate with vendors regarding material orders, deliveries, and parts availability Support Service Department Managers, Dispatch, and Contract Administration as needed Assist with filing, data entry, document management, and other office tasks Help maintain accurate records and ensure timely communication between departments Qualifications Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment Professional appearance and positive attitude Dependable, punctual, and eager to learn Preferred Qualifications Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college, university, or technical school Previous office, receptionist, administrative, or customer service experience preferred “Equal Employment Opportunity Employer – minority/female/veteran/disabled”.
