True Environmental is seeking a Wetland Scientist to join our Natural Resources team, supporting wetland delineation, environmental permitting, and regulatory compliance projects across New Jersey and New York.What you'll doConduct wetland delineations and boundary flagging per U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and state methodologiesPrepare permit applications and supporting documentation for New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) (Freshwater Wetlands, Coastal Area Facility Review Act (CAFRA), Waterfront Development) and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) programs (tidal wetlands, protection of waters programs)Conduct field investigations: soil sampling, hydrology assessments, vegetation surveysSupport threatened & endangered species habitat assessmentsPrepare technical reports, exhibits, and agency correspondenceCoordinate with regulatory agencies (USACE, NJDEP, NYSDEC, Environmental Protection Agency) on permit status and inquiriesSupport GIS mapping and data management for wetland/natural resource projectsAssist senior scientists and project managers with multi-disciplinary project deliveryMinimum QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, or related field2–10 years of relevant experienceWorking toward or holds Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) certificationFamiliarity with the USACE wetland delineation manual, regional supplements and State manualsProficiency with Global Positioning System (GPS) /Geographic Information Systems (GIS) field tools field tools (e.g., Trimble, ArcGIS Field Maps) a plusValid driver's license; ability to conduct fieldwork in varied outdoor conditionsStrong technical writing and communication skillsPreferred QualificationsWetland Professional in Training (WPIT) status Experience with NJ and/or NY environmental permitting strongly preferredAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.
