Wind Energy Engineer

Role & responsibilities Design, develop, and optimize onshore and offshore wind energy systems and wind farm projects. Conduct wind resource assessment, energy yield analysis, and site feasibility studies. Prepare engineering designs, technical specifications, calculations, and project documentation. Support wind turbine selection, layout optimization, and performance evaluation. Perform electrical system design, grid connection studies, and power system analysis. Coordinate with project development, construction, commissioning, and operations teams. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety guidelines. Analyze turbine performance data and recommend improvements to maximize energy production. Support substation, transmission, and distribution system design associated with wind projects. Review engineering drawings, vendor documents, and technical proposals. Troubleshoot technical issues related to wind turbines, electrical systems, and plant operations. Collaborate with stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and utility providers throughout the project lifecycle. Contribute to project planning, budgeting, risk assessment, and execution activities. Prepare technical reports, presentations, and project progress updates. Preferred candidate profile Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related discipline. 4 to 9 years of experience in wind energy, renewable energy, power generation, or power systems engineering. Strong understanding of wind turbine technology, wind farm development, and renewable energy systems. Experience in wind resource assessment, energy yield analysis, and performance optimization. Proficiency in engineering tools such as AutoCAD, ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, MATLAB, WindPRO, or similar software. Knowledge of grid integration, substations, transmission systems, and electrical protection schemes. Familiarity with international standards, electrical codes, and renewable energy regulations. Experience working on utility-scale wind energy projects is highly preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively within cross-functional teams.
