About the Role:
As a Fire Fighter II, you will receive intermediate-level airfield firefighting/crash rescue training and experience under general supervision. Your responsibilities will include mastering the use and maintenance of specialized firefighting and crash/rescue equipment, delivering fire prevention services, and executing firefighting and crash/rescue procedures and practices.

This position has the possibility of being hired as a Fire Fighter III

Responsibilities:

• Performs firefighting, rescue and hazardous materials response services.
• Responds and administers first-aid treatment to anyone in need.
• Actively participate in national, state and local reoccurring training requirements.
• General Fire Station cleaning and equipment/tool inspection and maintenance.
• Other duties assigned.

Qualifications
To be eligible for this role, you must meet or exceed the following criteria:

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Be United States Citizen.
• Qualify to obtain an SLCIAP Aircraft Movement Area Badge.
• Pass NFPA 1582 medical evaluation.
• Qualify for a "Favorable" federal background investigation.
• Complete Firefighter skills attributes.

In addition, the incumbent must:

• P ossess DoD Certification or ProBoard/IFSAC equivalent; Fire Fighter II, HAZMAT Operations.
• Possess or be able to obtain State of Utah EMT Certification or NREMT equivalent, DoD Certification or ProBoard/IFSAC Airport Fire Fighter, Telecommunicator I, HAZMAT technician all within 1 year of hire.
• Obtain an appropriate U.S. Government Driver License within 1 year of hire.

Supplemental Information:

• First aid certification required including CPR.
• Risks found in potentially dangerous or unusual environmental stress situations, e.g. working at great heights, working in extreme outdoor weather conditions, being subject to possible physical attack, etc.
• The work requires considerable and strenuous physical exertion such as frequent climbing, lifting heavy objects over 50 pounds, crouching or crawling in restricted areas, defending oneself and/or others against physical attack.
