Lead Full Stack Software Engineer - Palo Alto

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, along with 5+ years of applied experience.
• We need proven full stack engineering capability across frontend and backend delivery, with the ability to work independently throughout the SDLC.
• We require strong proficiency in Python, plus experience building microservices and automation frameworks.
• We need working knowledge of JavaScript for tooling, UI, and integrations, along with strong React experience building production-grade web applications.
• We require hands-on experience deploying and operating workloads on Kubernetes, including deployments, services, scaling, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• We require hands-on experience with API gateways, Kafka, and event-driven architectures.
• We need demonstrated experience using approved AI-assisted software development tools effectively, with the ability to set expectations for validating AI output for correctness, performance, and security.
• We require strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resilience and security expectations.
• We need experience coaching engineers on safe and compliant adoption of AI-assisted practices.
• We require experience with Apache Airflow for DAG authoring, dependency design, failure handling, and operational support.
• We need experience with distributed databases or SQL data stores, plus working knowledge of CockroachDB or similar distributed SQL systems.
• We require proven ability to support observability and operations through log- and metric-based troubleshooting and performance tuning using tools such as Splunk and Grafana.
• We need experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming languages and database query languages.
• We require experience with CI/CD, automated unit and integration testing, observability, and application security basics.
• We need demonstrated technical leadership as a senior individual contributor, including leading designs, driving delivery, and influencing across teams.
• Preferred: experience designing and delivering high-scale systems with high throughput, low latency, multi-service architectures, and capacity planning.
• Preferred: strong experience in production readiness practices such as SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, alert tuning, runbooks, and incident management.

• We execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting, approaching problems in ways that go beyond routine methods.
• We own end-to-end full stack delivery across frontend with React and TypeScript, backend Python services, data and workflow services with Apache Airflow, and database work with CockroachDB data modeling.
• We design and deliver scalable, highly available services and user experiences for large-scale applications, making architecture decisions that improve throughput, latency, reliability, and operability.
• We build and maintain cloud-native deployments on Kubernetes, including configuration, scaling strategies, and operational readiness such as health checks, rollouts, rollback planning, and capacity considerations.
• We drive monitoring, observability, and performance tuning across the stack using tools such as Splunk and Grafana, and we lead root-cause analysis and remediation.
• We promote enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational results, while maintaining consistent validation standards and encouraging reusable team patterns.
• We apply knowledge of the SDLC toolchain, including authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value delivered through automation.
• We identify opportunities to remove or automate the remediation of recurring issues to strengthen the overall stability of applications and systems.
• We lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and fit within our systems and information architecture.
