  • Conduct thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' trauma histories and determine the most effective treatment paths.

  • Utilize therapeutic modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to guide patients through their healing process.

  • Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions where patients can learn coping strategies and share their experiences in a safe setting.

  • Work in conjunction with psychiatrists and other health professionals to ensure integrated, holistic care for all patients.

  • Provide immediate support and crisis intervention in trauma-related emergencies, ensuring patient safety and security.

  • Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available resources to aid in their understanding and recovery.

  • Maintain accurate, confidential documentation following all legal and ethical standards, ensuring every detail is recorded comprehensively.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily serves individuals who have experienced trauma and are seeking healing and support. This includes adults facing PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Understanding the nuanced needs of trauma survivors is essential. You will play a critical role in helping these individuals regain control over their lives, build resilience, and develop effective coping mechanisms.

Qualifications\n

  • A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

  • Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New Jersey.

  • A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a mental health setting preferred, particularly in trauma-focused therapy.

  • Extensive knowledge of trauma-related disorders and evidence-based treatment practices.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to patient care.

  • Competency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and various computer applications.
