Job Description

Job Summary:
Certified Surgical Tech needed for immediate assignment at a medical center, specializing in orthopedic procedures and robotic-assisted surgery. The role involves supporting surgical teams, maintaining a sterile environment, and ensuring all equipment functions properly during procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all surgical equipment is ready and functioning.
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments, anticipating needs, and maintaining a sterile field during procedures.
• Adhere to sterilization protocols, cleaning, disinfection, and proper handling of surgical instruments.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to support patient care before, during, and after surgery.
• Follow all departmental policies and standards, including responding promptly to call-ins and assisting with scheduled and emergency surgeries.
• May serve as a preceptor for new staff members and perform routine technical duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must be certified as a Surgical Tech with recent travel and orthopedic experience.
• Minimum 13 weeks of surgical tech experience, including scrubbing and DaVinci robotic surgery.
• Must have current OR scrub experience and familiarity with sterilization procedures.
• BLS certification required.
• Must function effectively under supervision and arrive within 30 minutes of call.
• Completion of a Surgical Tech program or current NY State LPN license eligible preferred.
