The School Operations Team is focused on creating the conditions by which our schools can thrive by successfully driving attendance, enrollment, and school-wide systems; leading safety and crisis management; and providing exemplary customer service for students, families and staff members. Role Responsibilities Manage day-to-day school-based operations policies and procedures. Implement daily school-wide procedures such as arrival, lunch, and dismissal. Oversee daily busing operations, process changes, address challenges, and coordinate processes. Coordinate with Child Nutrition for day-to-day logistics of service such as meal card replacement and rosters. Support field lesson logistics by booking buses and ordering meals. Schedule shared space. Ensure that substitutes are booked and given attendance roster materials. Drive school-based strategies to ensure kids are in seats every day and year over year. Manage school event coordination and family engagement sessions. Curate any school-based social media communications and postings. Provide tours for prospective families. Serve as a key ambassador to the school’s larger community, building relationships with families, staff, and stakeholders with compassion, direct communication, and reliability. Makes daily attendance calls based on guidance from Attendance and PEIMS Specialist. Execute interventions to support chronically absent students in improving attendance. Support families in completion of registration documents. Maintain school inventory system and implement purchasing and accounting best practices. Manage copier and teacher workroom supplies, troubleshoot copiers, and receive training on copiers. Manage student technology audits, distribution, collection, and repair requests. Manage and develop School Operations Associate toward excellence in their role and with an eye toward their long-term development. If the school model does not include an SOA, SOM acts as front office, greeting families, answering phone calls, and providing best-in-class customer service. Qualifications Required Education and Experience Bilingual: English and Spanish preferred. 2–3 years of related work experience. Minimum 2 years experience in operations or education. Strong project and time management skills; ability to effectively backwards plan, juggle multiple priorities with great attention to detail, and deliver consistent and timely results. Sense of humility, customer service mindset, and demonstrates urgency and the ability to proactively solve problems and make decisions quickly. Ability to be calm under pressure, especially in difficult conversations with families and staff. Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. Desire to continuously learn and evolve as a professional. Additional Requirements Reliable transportation is needed for travel between campuses. Ability to maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions. Work Environment Reports to school site Monday–Friday. Typical school environment with frequent interruptions. Travel Requirements Minimal travel; may travel to other school sites or regional offices for professional learning or meetings.
