Accounting Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager / Operations Manager to support both the financial and operational performance of a growing organization. This role serves as the primary accounting and operations lead, responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, overseeing project-related financial activities, and partnering with leadership and external financial advisors to improve processes and support business growth. This is a high-impact position requiring a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who can assess current processes, identify efficiencies, and implement improvements while maintaining ownership of daily accounting operations. Key Responsibilities Accounting & Finance Manage full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations. Maintain accurate financial records and assist with month-end close. Prepare financial reports and provide supporting documentation to leadership and external financial partners. Collaborate regularly with external accounting advisors on financial reporting and performance insights. Ensure accuracy, organization, and compliance in all financial records. Operations & Project Management Support day-to-day business operations and partner with leadership on priorities. Oversee project administration, including budget tracking, financial monitoring, and timeline coordination. Work cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure accurate project costing, invoicing, and reporting. Evaluate existing systems and workflows; recommend and implement improvements for efficiency and scalability. Assist with workflow coordination, scheduling, and operational planning. Identify and implement process improvements across accounting and operations. Provide insights and recommendations to leadership to support growth and decision-making. Qualifications 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting and operations. Industry experience in construction or a project-based environment required. Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting, including AP, AR, reconciliations, and project accounting. Experience operating independently in a small or lean business environment. Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution. Experience collaborating with external accountants or financial advisors. Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel. Experience improving systems, workflows, and operational processes is highly desirable. Core Competencies Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
