Responsibilities include preparing patients for imaging procedures, operating CT equipment, obtaining high-quality diagnostic images, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring patient safety and compliance with radiation protection standards.EducationRequired: Associate degree in Radiologic Sciences.Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Sciences.ExperienceRequired: Minimum of 2 years of experience as an allied health professional.Experience performing CT imaging procedures is expected; confirm the facility's specific experience requirement.Required Certifications & LicensureCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).Current Registered Radiologic Technologist license in the state of practice.Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesProficiency in computer systems, data entry, information retrieval, and role-specific software.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Strong interpersonal and patient service skills.Excellent attention to detail and the ability to recognize equipment malfunctions and potential patient safety risks.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.Willingness to learn new procedures and technologies.Knowledge of radiation safety practices and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts, as required.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare patients for CT examinations, explain procedures, and verify patient readiness.Operate CT scanners and associated imaging equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.Position patients appropriately and follow safe patient-handling and transfer procedures.Monitor patients during examinations and promptly report any concerns or changes in condition.Follow radiation safety protocols to minimize unnecessary radiation exposure to patients and staff.Maintain accurate examination records and documentation.Transmit, archive, and retrieve digital images through the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).Perform quality control procedures and report equipment issues to ensure optimal image quality and safe operation.Adapt communication and care approaches to meet individual patient needs while respecting privacy and obtaining appropriate permissions.Comply with applicable laws, accreditation standards, radiation safety requirements, and organizational policies.Promptly report patient safety, privacy, compliance, or ethical concerns.Perform other related duties as assigned.Physical & Environmental RequirementsPhysical Demand: Medium work, including occasionally exerting 20–50 pounds of force, frequently exerting 10–25 pounds, and constantly exerting up to 10 pounds to move objects.Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities.Routine duties involve potential exposure to blood, body fluids, and human tissue.The role involves direct patient care in a clinical environment with potential exposure to communicable diseases.Occupational exposure to hazardous medications, hazardous waste, and contaminated materials may occur depending on assigned duties.
