Description
- Conduct evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations using licensed assessments and observational techniques.
- Craft individualized treatment plans that cater to both short-term milestones and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
- Deliver one-on-one speech therapy interventions focusing on enhancing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Work collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to formulate comprehensive care strategies.
- Provide education to patients and their families to support progress beyond therapy sessions.
- Assist with occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, guaranteeing consistency of care throughout the therapeutic journey.
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation that aligns with state, federal, and organization regulations.
- Stay informed about advancements within the field through ongoing education and peer engagements.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those not yet ASHA-certified.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification mandated within the first month of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based therapeutic approaches across various ages, with a profound understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Superb interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
- Flexibility to tailor therapy techniques to respect diverse cultural and linguistic requirements.
- Strong analytical thinking and clinical decision-making capabilities.
- Proficient in using electronic medical records and adhering to documentation protocols.
