Medical Director - Physiatrist (PM&R)

In partnership with MercyOne Genesis in Davenport, Iowa, together we are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Physician to lead our Inpatient Physical Rehabilitation Unit as Medical Director . This is an excellent full-time employed opportunity for a physician passionate about rehabilitation care and team-based leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a 39 bed CARF accredited inpatient rehabilitation unit
• Daily rounding with therapists, NPs, PAs, nurses
• Oversee clinical quality & patient outcomes
• Work closely with a hospitalist team for medical management support

Position Highlights

• Full time Medical Director
• 2 year guaranteed salary 307,613
• Recruitment incentive of $100,000
• Moving assistance up to $15,000
• Additional director & supervision compensation
• CME Allowance: $6,000
• 4 weeks PTO + 6 holidays + 1 week CME

Qualifications

• MD or DO, licensed and in good standing to practice medicine in the state where the Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit is located
• Board Certified and maintaining certification through a nationally recognized board
• Eligible for and in good standing with the Hospital Medical Staff, meeting all medical staff bylaws and credentialing requirements
• Demonstrated training and experience in inpatient rehabilitation, including one or more of the following:
• Completion of a PM&R residency
• Completion of at least one year of rehabilitation fellowship training
• Completion of a one‑year hospital internship plus a minimum of two years of experience as part of a multidisciplinary team managing inpatient rehabilitation patients

The MercyOne Genesis Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit provides intensive rehab for patients of all ages recovering from strokes, spinal cord and brain injuries, amputations, complex trauma, orthopedic conditions, and more. The unit is CARF-accredited and features a strong collaborative team including physicians, NPs, therapists, and hospitalists.
