Senior Scientist (Small Molecule, Synthetics)

This senior scientist role focuses on small molecule drug product development within a cross-functional team. The successful candidate will design experiments, execute design-of-experiments studies, and provide technical chemistry expertise to support pivotal and commercial programs while collaborating across multiple departments including regulatory, quality, and clinical functions.

Responsibilities

• Develop creative functional strategies and execute design-of-experiments for pivotal drug development programs
• Apply organic chemistry expertise to innovate drug product development approaches within cross-functional teams
• Design and execute experiments supporting drug product development objectives
• Provide technical expertise on structure, reactivity, and physicochemical properties of drug substances and excipients
• Summarize experimental results in technical documents, regulatory filings, and presentations

Requirements

• PhD in organic chemistry, physical chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or pharmaceutical sciences
• Deep understanding of organic molecules, their assemblies, and physicochemical properties
• Expertise in solid-state chemistry and characterization techniques (XRPD, DSC, TGA, SEM)
• Prior pharmaceutical industry experience with oral solid dosage forms
• Proficiency in designing and conducting independent formulation research
• Exceptional technical writing and cross-functional collaboration skills
