After training is complete, the assigned work location will be Richmond Hill.Assess client health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. Administer nursing care to Health Department clients. May advise clients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management. Nurse will provide Public Health services to clients on a daily basis. Cares for population with special needs during disasters/emergencies and biological and chemical protocols.M-F work schedule-13 paid holidays-Excellent benefit packageAll Coastal Health District, County Health Department employees are deemed essential employees in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event not limited to but including, staffing a shelter, a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or Point of Dispensing site (POD). When you are called on to participate, you are expected and it will be a part of your job requirement to participate, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.Job Responsibilities:Provides comprehensive assessment of client's health care needsProvides treatments, administers medications/vaccines, and preventative/maintenance care to clients and familiesConsults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate client care plansMaintains accurate, detailed reports and client recordsModifies client treatment plans as indicated by clients responses and conditionsMonitors all aspects of client care, including diet and physical activityMonitors, records and reports symptoms and changes in clients conditionsPrepares clients for, and assists with, examinations and treatmentsPrepares rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies, and ensures that stock of supplies is maintainedProvides education to clients, families, and community service providersProvides health care, first aid, and immunizationsProvides school related health care services.Minimum Qualifications:This position is located in Richmond Hill however the first six months will require training at the Pembroke office. After training is complete, the assigned work location will be Richmond Hill. Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of nursing experience and completion of a PHN course within one year of hire and current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification; or one (1) year of experience at the lowerlevel PH Registered Nurse 1 (HCP190) or position equivalent. Preferred Qualifications: BSN; Previous Public Health experience strongly preferred.
