Relocation assistance may be available Clearance required at start: Yes Clearance type: Top Secret Travel: Yes, 10% of the time Principal Data Insight Analyst – Palmdale, CA At Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems, we are looking to add a Principal Data Insight Analyst to join our team in Palmdale, CA. The candidate should be a self‑starter who thrives in both independent and collaborative settings while consistently maintaining strong connections across the team. The selected candidate must work full-time, on-site at our facility. There is no remote/hybrid/telework available for this position. Travel up to 10% may be required. Positions may be filled at the Principal or Senior Principal level based on qualifications. Roles and Responsibilities Specify, collect, process, and present information from multiple disparate data sets. Generate actionable knowledge from data. Analyze data sets and quickly develop recommendations based on quantitative and qualitative data from many different sources. Identify patterns and higher‑level information from all data sources using tools and application programming. Understand the general problem space and explain the different insights derived from the data. Translate analytic findings into clear, actionable recommendations and executive presentations with compelling visualizations and narratives. Ensure data quality, integrity, and lineage for insight‑generating datasets through validation rules, monitoring, and escalation processes. Prioritize analytics backlog using business impact, technical feasibility, and operational readiness; manage stakeholder expectations and delivery timelines. Lead cross‑functional analytics projects, coordinating engineering, data platform, and business teams to deliver production‑ready solutions. Basic Qualifications Principal : Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related experience; or a Master’s degree and 3 years of related experience. Senior Principal : Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of related experience; or a Master’s degree and 6 years of related experience. Hands‑on analytics experience, including advanced statistical modeling and experimentation. Proficient with MS Office products and Atlassian Suites. Experience with pivoting tables, charting, and building nested Excel functions. Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, weekends and support on‑call status 24/7. Active Government Top Secret SCI clearance (with background investigation within past 5 years or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation). Ability to obtain and maintain SAP access via a Program Access Request before commencement of employment. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with aircraft systems such as avionics/mechanical equipment and other common systems. Salary and Benefits Primary level salary range: $103,600 – $155,400. Secondary level salary range: $129,300 – $193,900.
