Sheet Metal Fabricator
Our client, an aerospace and defense manufacturer in Sterling Heights, is seeking a metal fabricating technician to join their team. As a metal fabricating technician, you will be part of the assembly team supporting production goals. The ideal candidate will have ability to work independently, a strong work ethic, and reliability which will align successfully in the organization.
Location: Sterling Heights, Michigan
Pay Range: $18/hr-$22/hr Shift: 1st shift: 5am-3:30pm Monday-Friday 10 hour shifts 2nd shift: 2pm-12:30am Monday-Friday 10 hour shifts Saturday is mandatory overtime typically 6-8 hours
What's the Job?
- Lay out, cut, measure and inspect part dimensions to blueprints, internal drawings or written instructions using gauges
- Setting up fabricating machines including break press, metal muncher, rolling machine. etc
- Using gauge tools such as height gauges, micrometers, calipers, etc...
What's Needed?
- Proficient in using metal fabricating machinery such as break press, rolling machines, grinders, etc...
- Experience in qualifying sheet metal parts to fit models, check fixtures, and/or print specifications
- Minimum of 4 years of fabrication experience
- Ability to read blueprints
- Capability of lifting 50 lbs unassisted
