Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year License: MO or compact Certifications: ACLS, BLS, Chemo certification preferred Must-Have: - Experience with auto stem cell transplants - Chemotherapy administration - Patient ratio experience of 4:1 - Charting experience with EPIC Description: The registered nurse will work in the oncology unit. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 4:1 for all shifts. The average daily census is around 30 patients. The unit consists of 32 beds/rooms. Every other weekend is required. The nurse will float within the service line as needed. Key responsibilities include administering chemotherapy and managing ports. ACLS and BLS certifications are required. Knowledge of handling body fluids post-chemotherapy is essential. The role involves monitoring chemotherapy and recognizing abnormal lab values. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, and pharmacy. Prior charge experience is preferred. Travel experience is required. The hospital is recognized as a teaching facility and is designated as a Level I trauma center.
