Adjunct Instructor, Daytime - Raleigh, NC

Specific Requirements We are seeking instructors to teach general education and core courses in our allied health and massage programs. The instructor would be an ongoing part‑time/hourly role. Courses are six weeks on a rotating schedule and run between 9 am and 3:30 pm. An academic transcript must be provided and academic preparation in the field is required. Prior experience teaching in a post‑secondary educational facility is preferred. Experience teaching in a hybrid format is a plus. The Instructor will coach, mentor and lead students through the class material. In addition to the ability to effectively translate subject matter expertise, primary responsibilities include understanding and adapting to multiple learning styles and the ability to create a flexible lesson plan to engage students in both traditional and non‑traditional learning activities. Reports Direct To Campus Director Minimum Qualifications Associate’s degree required and/or professional licensure or certification as deemed appropriate by the school and institutional or programmatic accreditation requirements. Subject‑related work experience preferred. Teaching experience preferred. Strong interpersonal skills. Campus requirements may vary depending on state and accreditation requirements. Instructors teaching distance education and/or hybrid courses must also demonstrate prior experience, either academic or experiential, in distance education. Copies of certificates or transcripts may be used to demonstrate academic preparation where job experience and references may be used to demonstrate work experience. Relates to students in a fair, courteous and professional manner, encouraging adherence to the student code of conduct. Ensures timeliness, fairness and consistency in grading and evaluation of student work. Actively participates in the evaluation of program and course materials, providing recommendations for revisions, textbook selection and curriculum development. Utilizes approved textbooks and supports the material with well‑defined lesson plans that include practical applications. Maintains current knowledge of adult learning methodologies, new classroom technologies and industry standards through continuing education and professional development. Attends and actively participates in all scheduled in‑services, meetings and completes assigned independent study modules. Maintains a safe learning environment by ensuring proper use of supplies and equipment and cleaning up after class. Completes reports as required by the Program Director in an accurate and timely manner. Submits supplies and equipment requests to the Program Director promptly. Proactively initiates actions to re‑engage and retain at‑risk students. Demonstrates collaboration and maintains a team‑player mindset for functional accountabilities. Takes ownership of classroom resources, tools and supplies to meet ongoing needs. Maintains positive communications with students concerning administrative and school policies.
