Sales Coordinator

Description DoubleTree by the Galleria is looking for an enthusiastic, and outgoing Sales Coordinator to join the team. If you have strong interpersonal skills, previous administrative experience and the ability to work independently with little supervision, submit your resume to apply! Required Skills and Abilities: Administrative experience required Previous experience as hotel sales highly preferred Previous Hilton front desk experience a plus Excellent communication skills, verbal and written Command of the English language, bi-lingual in Spanish a plus Possess basic mathematical skills High level of comfortability in working with computers to include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and facilitate information to clients Able to type at least 50-60 WPM Job Description: Answer incoming calls, complete a lead form and direct the caller to the Director of Sales or Catering Manager Assist guests with questions, changes and special requests Create banquet event orders, letters and perform required administrative duties Serve as liaison between the hotel and the group contact on in house groups Implement program details including meeting requirements, accommodations, food & beverage functions, audio-visual requirements on in house groups Organize all information into a written format (“Group Brief”) for internal distribution Knowledge of menu planning, and the ability to “guide” a group towards meals most conducive to the size of their group and the space allotted Maintain accurate, legible records and files Create mailing lists, spreadsheets and other departmental projects as needed Support and assist with servicing event Benefits: Medical, dental and vision insurance Matching 401k Employee assistance program Free life insurance Paid time off Holiday pay Hotel discount program Free lunch Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
