Our restaurant needs a skilled Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. You will act as the second-in-command to the Executive Chef. Your job is to oversee daily kitchen operations, train staff, and ensure every dish meets our quality and taste standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise Staff: Lead line cooks and kitchen workers during shifts.
- Quality Control: Check food preparation, taste, and plating before it goes to customers.
- Inventory Control: Track food stock, check expiration dates, and order kitchen supplies.
- Safety Rules: Enforce strict health, sanitation, and safety regulations in the kitchen.
- Leadership Support: Fill in for the Executive Chef when they are absent or busy.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Culinary Education: Associate degree or certificate in culinary arts is preferred.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience working as a sous chef or in a high-level kitchen role.
- Skills: Strong leadership, active communication, and time management skills.
Cotton & Rye is a dinner only restaurant open Monday-Saturday 5:00-10:00.
