Together, we advance your career.The RoleThis Senior Finance Manager role is a high-visibility position within AMD's Finance organization, and plays a critical role in the support and success of the Artificial Intelligence Group Business Unit. This position serves as the key business partner to the BU leadership team, providing financial leadership, insight, and strategic support to drive performance and achieve business objectives. The role will work cross-functionally with various AMD operations stakeholders, finance counterparts and technical accounting.The PersonWe are seeking a strategic, results-oriented leader with a strong bias for action and a proven ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional communication skills and a collaborative mindset, effectively managing multiple priorities. This Individual is expected to provide strong leadership, drive cross-organizational initiatives to optimize R&D investments, lead core financial planning activities, confidently make recommendations and serve as a strong finance partner to Datacenter Engineering leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesDirectly support the business unit Engineering leadership team, deliver data-driven insights, financial guidance, and decision supportEngage/Lead core finance processes including Life of Program planning, Annual Operating Plans, and intra-quarter OutlooksCollaborate with engineering, program management, procurement and operations to align financial plans with platform roadmaps and execution prioritiesSupport investment planning, including capacity, cost optimization, and ROI analysis for datacenter platformsPrepare and disseminate timely and accurate financial information to allow the business to plan, forecast, and make decisions using controlled and consistent dataDrive budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis; communicate financial performance and risks to senior leadership and corporate financeMonitor operating expenses and capital-related investments to ensure efficient resource allocation and alignment with strategic prioritiesDevelop long-range financial planning and scenario analysis to guide strategic decisionsImprove financial transparency by establishing clear metrics, reporting frameworks, and performance tracking for platform initiativesEnsure strong internal controls and adherence to company financial policies and accounting standardsPartner with Corporate Finance, Accounting, and other BU Finance teams to ensure alignment and consistency in reportingIdentify potential opportunities for process improvement to existing processes and cadencePreferred ExperienceSelf-starter with excellent interpersonal communication, teaming, and problem-solving skillsProgressive experience in Finance, including significant exposure to BU, platform, or P&L Management rolesExperience supporting infrastructure, platform, or engineering-heavy organizations (semiconductor, datacenter or hardware environments preferred)Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skillsExceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.Self-motivated, intellectually curious, and comfortable with ambiguity, possessing a proactive approach to problem-solvingProven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth, and challenging environmentRobust analytical skills required and the ability to turn complex data and concepts into valuable information to present in a simple/understandable mannerAbility to work in teams and with all levels of an organization as well as work independentlyProficiency in Excel, AI tools, MSFT Co-Pilot, and ERP systems experience (SAP, SAP HANA)Academic CredentialsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalentMBA, CPA or CFA preferredLocationAustin, TexasThis role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.Benefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.AMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
