Job Title: General Studies Lead Teacher Location: Los Angeles, CA Type: Full Time Schedule Monday - 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM Tuesday - 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM Wednesday - 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM Thursday - 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Friday - 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM Overview The General Studies lead teacher (“Lead teacher”) is responsible for planning, developing, adapting, delivering and evaluating appropriate individualized educational services, including curriculum and other learning programs and instruction, for students with special needs in collaboration with other school personnel. Success in this position means students are supported daily. The Lead teacher reports directly to the Therapy Director, Educational Director and the Executive Director. Core Responsibilities Participates in the initial process to assess a potential student. Identifies the needs of assigned students through formal and informal assessments. Reviews history, referral, and assessment data to develop appropriate goals and objectives for each student. Met and confers regularly with the Therapy Director and Educational Director regarding the educational, social, emotional, and physical needs and goals of each student. Plans, develops, implements, and adapts individualized learning plans for each student in collaboration with the Educational Director. Designs appropriate teaching strategies. Prepares lesson plans and instructional materials in accordance with each student’s Individual Educational Plan (“IEP”). Reviews IEP’s with parents, Educational Director, and other staff and providers. Utilizes appropriate methods of instruction and learning delivery to meet the needs of each student. Monitors, evaluates, and documents student progress utilizing appropriate measurements and assessment tools alongside the Educational Director. Prepares timely student progress reports. Develops and implements necessary interventions and strategies to promote achievement of student objectives as demarcated by the Therapy Director and Educational Director. Collaborates and consults with the Educational Director, and other staff and providers regarding implementation of student IEPs and special educational services. Participates in student’s IEP when scheduled and contributes pertinent information about academic and behavioral goals in the classroom. With guidance from the Educational Director, modifies and adapts state standards curriculum and educational programs to meet individual student’s needs. Maintains regular communication with parents via email, phone calls, conferences and progress reports. Assists parents with understanding and supporting educational objectives, learning expectations, and behavioral standards. Works alongside the behavior team to manage student behavior through monitoring, supervising and assessing behavioral patterns. Utilizes appropriate corrective methods to modify student behavior. Helps implement BIP’s. Instructs students on socially acceptable behaviors and personal development skills. Stays current on best practices and trends in special education. Creates a schedule for pull out sessions with assigned students to address academic deficits. Communicates and coordinates with any online virtual learning platforms and online and/or in person therapies. Communicates and incorporates outside ABA therapists into classroom activities to create an inclusive and comfortable environment for staff and students. Qualifications Masters or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Education, Special Education or related field. At least 2+ years of experience in a special education classroom as a lead teacher, co-teacher or teaching assistant. Experience in effective classroom and student behavior management. Knowledge of current special education practices and methodologies. Experience working with students with a variety of special needs. Effective and professional communication skills. Maintains professionalism and confidentiality at all times. Exceptional time management skills. Proficient computer skills. Assists with lifting, holding or positioning students with disabilities (including physical, behavioral, learning, etc.) Performs outside duties (i.e., assists with carpool, field trips, and supervising students on the playground). Maintains professional boundaries with all staff, providers, parents, and students. Must have a current CPR and first aid certification for adults and children. Completes Mandated Reporter training. Compensation

$65,000-$75,000 DOE
