Lead Harm Reduction Trainer | Prevention Program

JobSummary Odyssey House Louisiana, Inc. is seeking a full-time Lead HarmReduction Trainer for the Prevention Program. Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with some weekends. The Lead Harm Reduction Traineris responsible for the research, development, and delivery of harm reduction/overdoseprevention training programs to community partners and organizations in NewOrleans, Lake Charles and Bayou Vista areas, conducting street outreach, referringindividuals to OHL services or other appropriate community resources, and representingthe Prevention Program at community outreach, as determined by the Project Manager. Responsibilitiesand Duties Develop harm reduction training material and data tracking tools Leads various community and OHL client naloxone trainings toproviders, pharmacists and CBOs; conduct ongoing regular research relevant to the Program grantgoals; conducts QA to harm reduction trainer; inform community members on naloxone use and access throughcommunity outreach events; conduct street outreach, outreach events, trainings at OHL,trainings at partner agencies, as directed by Program Manager; conduct data entry and gathering as directed by Program Manager; assist in the development and implementation of a naloxoneawareness campaign to priority populations (Pharmacists, Prescribers, CommunityMembers, and OHL Clients); maintain updated work calendar, naloxone training calendar, andoutreach calendar; maintain comprehensive documentation of all activities for datacollection; present potential partnerships with Program Manager for approval; responsible for administrative tasks as directed by ProgramManager; responsible for training preparation, facilitation, andevaluation; refer individuals to the OHL for primary medical care andtreatment services; refer individuals to the resource guide as needed; assist with special projects as directed by the Program Manager; organize workload to complete responsibilities in an appropriateand timely manner; adhere to ethical practices by striving to perform in a mannerthat conforms to the highest standards of ethical behavior, integrity andhonesty; take initiative and responsibility for decisions as an individual; exhibit commitment to personal and agency-wide goals; participate in the ongoing development of competencies,technology, and the resources needed to achieve high standards of efficiencyand effectiveness; place clients’ needs first, following care management and servicedelivery protocols; strive to lead through vision, technology, innovation, andcustomer service; and to make a difference in the lives of the Agency’semployees, patients, and the community; encourage a positive environment and experience for co-workers andclients; treat employees, patients, and business partners with respect; embrace diversity and demonstrate teamwork; promote a safe and efficient working environment by adhering toAgency and Program policies and procedures; exhibit commitment to the Agency’s mission, vision, and values; attend and participate in management, staff meetings, and vendorservice meetings as requested; adhere to all Federal Health Insurance Portability &Accountability Act regulations by protecting the privacy and security of allpatient/client health information; and perform other duties as assigned. Qualificationsand Skills Required: Bachelors Degree or equivalent Excellent communication interpersonal skills Familiarity with the community served by the Agency Proficient in MS Office Suite One year experience providing health education to various populations.
