Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS Certification (AHA) Must-Have: Availability for on-call shifts Description: The competent nurse, in a clinical setting, practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care with the ability to formulate long-range goals and plans. Continuously develops the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as a means to help manage the clinical situation. Meets the expectations of the applicable competencies, as a leader of self, others, or leaders. Consistent with the nursing scope and standards of practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Using the appropriate protocol, administers medications and treatments; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of the prescribed treatment. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.
