Market Data Services (MDS) Financial Analyst – Senior ConsultantLocation: New York City, USA | Practice Area: Capital Markets | Type: PermanentDrive financial governance, operational excellence, and cost transparency across a global market data environment.The RoleAs a Senior Consultant within our Capital Markets practice, you will play a key role in the financial administration, governance, and operational management of the firm's global Market Data Services (MDS) environment. You will oversee the financial processing of approximately 8,500 vendor and exchange invoices annually while supporting budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, inventory governance, and platform administration.Working closely with Vendor Managers, Exchange Managers, Finance, Accounts Payable, Technology, Compliance, and business stakeholders, you will help ensure market data services are accurately billed, governed, optimized, and aligned with regulatory and financial controls.What You'll DoManage market data financial operations, including invoice reconciliation, billing validation, accruals, forecasting, budgeting, financial reporting, and General Ledger allocation across a global vendor portfolio.Maintain and administer the Market Data Management (MDM) platform, ensuring inventory accuracy, entitlement administration, service ownership, regulatory reporting, onboarding/offboarding activities, and operational governance.Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to resolve billing discrepancies, validate contracts and pricing, support audits, and improve financial transparency and cost management.Produce recurring and ad hoc management reporting, spend analysis, variance reporting, operational metrics, and insights to support business and Finance decision-making.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance market data governance, financial controls, operational efficiency, and overall service quality.What We're Looking For3–7+ years' experience in market data administration, financial operations, accounting, billing, vendor management, or a related financial services environment.Strong financial analysis skills with experience in budgeting, forecasting, accruals, reconciliations, variance analysis, and high-volume invoice processing.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, together with experience using Market Data Management platforms (FITS preferred) and ERP/Accounts Payable systems such as PeopleSoft.Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.A collaborative, detail-oriented professional who is committed to delivering high-quality financial governance and operational excellence.Bonus Points ForExperience within investment banking, capital markets, or other financial services organizations.Knowledge of exchange reporting requirements and market data compliance obligations.Experience supporting market data inventory governance, financial controls, and cost optimization initiatives.Why Join CapcoDeliver high-impact technology and business solutions for Tier 1 financial institutions.Work in a collaborative, flat, and entrepreneurial consulting culture.Access continuous learning, professional development, and industry certifications.Be part of a team shaping the future of digital financial services.Help clients solve complex business and operational challenges across global Capital Markets.BenefitsMedical, Dental and Vision coverage.401(k) with company match, Health Savings Account (HSA), Flexible Spending Account (FSA), and commuter benefits.Maternity and paternity leave together with dependent care support.Tuition reimbursement and wellness reimbursement programmes.Working Advantage employee discount marketplace.Inclusion at CapcoWe're committed to making our recruitment process accessible and straightforward for everyone.
