Tax Manager PositionWe are working with a top tier firm that has a need for an experienced Tax Manager in their Birmingham office. Essential functions include providing tax and consulting services to the firm's clients, developing and managing professional relationships with clients, coordinating engagements to meet deadlines, researching tax issues and solutions, demonstrating professional expertise, providing feedback on engagements, facilitating in-house training and team-building activities, supervising professional work, and acting as a mentor for senior associates and experienced associates. Leadership expectations involve promoting the firm, increasing profitability, training and developing staff, taking initiative, motivating others, displaying respect and fairness, providing technical expertise, and evaluating team member performance. Team relationship expectations include demonstrating integrity, ethical decision-making, creating an environment that encourages improvement and innovation, and working closely with clients. Desired skills and experience include being a Certified Public Accountant with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, minimum five years' recent experience in public accounting with emphasis in taxation, strong working knowledge of state and local jurisdictional tax planning, consulting, and compliance work, experience with S Corporations and Partnerships, superior communication and computer skills, well-developed decision-making skills, ability to work under pressure, and demonstrated ability to solve problems creatively.
