Career SpecialistClassification: Non-ExemptSalary: $50,000Scope of Position:Build relationships with community-based organizations to develop appropriate strategies to connect jobseekers to available opportunities; provide assistance as neededProvide customer-centered services designed to enhance workforce development activities and service strategies for jobseekersKeep a flexible schedule to meet customer and community partner's needsServices may be offered in person or virtually depending on customer and community partner's needsEssential Functions:Answer questions in a computer lab setting including Career Resource CenterMaintain current knowledge of state policies, local guidelines and regulationsDisseminate information on available job opportunities to community-based organizations and jobseekersCommunicate with direct supervisor to resolve problemsCoordinate activities with central hub; assist in recruitment activities, coordinate with hub BST in placement activitiesIncrease program awareness and participation through outreach at various partner locations through workshops, and open office hoursMeet performance reporting criteria on a weekly, monthly and annual basis, as established by leadershipImplement processes to identify jobseekers, and connect unemployed and long-term unemployed individuals to employment, identify barriers, and training opportunities that may be neededAssist clients in registering in PA CareerLink® system of recordIdentify and develop partnerships with agencies we currently do not work with in partnership with Outreach & Business Service ManagerParticipate in community functions and serve as a representative of CareerLinkDocument all participant contacts and activities in Commonwealth system of record to include case notes, services provided and post-placement follow-up contactsParticipate in meetings associated with outreachProvide career guidance to assist jobseekers in making and carrying out career decisions for success in the labor market; identify suitability for and/or barriers to employment/trainingProvide current labor market information to jobseekersAssist with directing and registering clients with steps to get enrolled into PA CareerLink® services through appropriate program referrals to increase program enrollmentsProvide follow-up activities according to program guidelinesProvide information to jobseekers, individually and in group sessions, about PA CareerLink® services and the services of other agencies and organizations electronicallyProvide assistance to jobseekersProvide reports as requested by managementOther opportunities as availableEducation and Experience Requirements:Experience in business, sales or trainingInterpersonal skillsExperience in a team-oriented environmentBachelor's degree or related experienceExperience working with unemployed, underemployed, displaced workers, ex-offenders, veterans, individuals with barriers, or other economically-disadvantaged populationsAbility to prioritize tasks and document all aspects of services providedDemonstrated communication, analytical and interpersonal skillsKnowledge of Microsoft Office programsValid Driver's License, automobile and clean driving record requiredAbility to maintain flexibility as needs of contract or contractor requireMust be willing to work evening and weekend hoursBilingual (English/Spanish) is preferredEDSI is an equal opportunity employer.
