Senior AccountantPosition Summary:Full time salaried positionOnsite based out of our Chelsea, MA locationThe Senior Accountant is responsible for working closely with the Finance team to ensure a smooth, timely month-end close process. This individual provides assistance with SOX compliance and is involved in the annual budgeting process.The Boston-area facility is Catalent's global Center of Excellence for spray dry dispersion and Dry Powder Inhaler (DPI) capsule manufacture and packaging. The site features inhaled powder spray drying, as well as multiple commercial scale lines for capsule filling and blister packaging, with potent filling capacity for up to 100 million capsules annually.The Role:Performs and assists with month-end and quarter-end closing accounting tasks including preparation/input of journal entries ensuring compliance with US GAAPEnsures that reconciliations and supporting schedules and analysis are completed on a timely basis and in accordance with the monthly closing schedulePrepares and maintains month-end closing shared foldersPreparation and assistance with month-end analytical review of actuals versus budget/forecastAssist with budgeting and forecastingProvides assistance with SOX compliance by ensuring internal controls are adhered toProvides assistance to Sr. Manager Financial Operations and Accounting on quarter-end inventory close and various analysesOther duties as assignedThe Candidate:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, requiredMinimum four years of experience and with solid understanding of GAAP, requiredExperience in public accounting, preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skills, proficient in MS Office Suite, and experience with general ledger systemsIndividual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift 0-15 poundsThe anticipated salary range for this position in Massachusetts is $89,000 - $122,000, plus bonus, when eligible.
