You'll support daily operations, maintain equipment standards, assist physicians, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical ExcellencePerform high-quality diagnostic breast ultrasound exams—including routine, emergent, portable, biopsy, and intraoperative procedures—in accordance with departmental protocols.Apply strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, pathology, and sonographic imaging techniques.Acquire, label, and document images accurately; discuss findings with radiologists as needed.Ensure complete and accurate patient information in all clinical/RIS systems.Participate in QA activities and report equipment issues promptly.Support operational flexibility by rotating shifts and taking on-call assignments (including holidays).Maintain productivity and meet established accuracy/error standards.Patient CareProvide a safe, compassionate, and patient-centered imaging experience.Confirm patient identity and review clinical history prior to imaging.Recognize signs of distress and respond to clinical emergencies appropriately.Utilize sterile technique where applicable.Communicate clearly with patients, families, and care teams.Notify radiologists immediately about urgent or critical exam findings.Maintain clean, well-stocked exam rooms and assist in department workflow.Compliance & Professional StandardsMaintain required licensure and certifications.Follow institutional, departmental, and regulatory policies.Participate in mandatory training, drills, and continuing education.Document procedures, patient concerns, variances, and biopsy paperwork accurately.Ensure proper coding and data entry for accurate billing.Operations & WorkflowContribute to performance improvement initiatives.Identify workflow and patient-experience enhancements.Manage patient flow efficiently through prioritization and critical thinking.Support downtime procedures and communicate with leadership during outages.Report equipment malfunctions and assist in troubleshooting.Serve as a resource for scheduling, throughput, and section efficiency.Additional ContributionsAct as lead technologist when needed in the supervisor's absence.Support faculty with research-related imaging or tasks.Participate in special projects and departmental initiatives.Work independently with minimal supervision.EducationRequired: Graduation from an accredited program of ultrasound technology or radiologic technology.Preferred: Bachelor's Degree Related field.Work ExperiencePreferred: 2 years Experience in diagnostic ultrasound.Licenses and CertificationsRequired: RT(S) - Sonography American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Sonography (ARRT-S).
