About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25.

This position is with the U.S. Special Operations Command (Army), Security Operations Training Facility, Intelligence Section located at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Duties

Help

  • Serve as Senior All Source Intelligence Analyst in the United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC).
  • Develop in-depth analytical assessments on highly unique special operations targets using multiple intelligence disciplines.
  • Conduct in-depth research using state-of-the-art intelligence tools to identify and analyze emerging threats.
  • Interface daily with national and theater-level intelligence counterparts to support sensitive SOF intelligence requirements.
  • Represent the command in coordination and liaison activities with senior officials across the national intelligence community.
  • Evaluate correctness and accuracy of all-source intelligence data before inclusion in command intelligence products.
  • Ensure intelligence databases are maintained and updated to support no-notice and short-notice contingency operations.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • This position requires access to firearms and/or ammunition, and therefore is subject to the Lautenberg amendment to the gun control act of 1968.
  • A pre-employment physical is required.
  • May be required to undergo psychological screening.
  • Shift work, irregular tours of duty and/or extended duty will be required.
  • Requires duties to be performed under austere and potentially hazardous conditions during exercises and deployment operations. Uniform is required.
  • May be required to deploy into areas in which hostile action may occur. Specific training and immunization requirements as appropriate for OCONUS deployments.
  • Requires frequent extended duty with long hours under high pressure with generally high-risk job responsibilities.
  • Requires extensive travel, both CONUS and OCONUS, up to 30% of the time, on very short notice.
  • This is an Emergency-Essential (E-E) position subject to deployment; E-E and must be exempted from military mobilization or recall obligations by being placed in the Standby Reserve or other appropriate action.

Army DCIPS positions apply Veteran's Preference to preference eligible candidates as defined by Section 2108 of Title 5 U.S.C., in accordance with the procedures provided in DoD Instruction 1400.25, Volume 2005, DCIPS Employment and Placement.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:

1. Conducting all-source intelligence analysis to develop assessments supporting operational planning requirements.

2. Coordinating with intelligence counterparts to maintain situational awareness of mission activities and intelligence requirements

3. Preparing and editing intelligence products to ensure accuracy and completeness for contingency operations.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS/GG-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.

Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
