ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC

Job Title

The primary purpose of this position is to remove, install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild integrated electronic avionics systems where the output of a number of sensor subsystems is integrated into a logic subsystem and the resultant used to modify the operation of the total system. The worker in this career field must demonstrate the ability to perform maintenance on one or more complete electronic integrated systems associated with the assigned aircraft and/or maintenance on automatic flight control systems, instrument systems, environmental systems, radar, communications, and navigation systems. Provides training to traditional reservist and other assigned personnel in the accomplishment of tasks herein.

Duties:

• Removes, installs, modifies, overhauls, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, aligns, calibrates, and rebuilds integrated electronic avionics systems where the output of a number of sensor subsystems is integrated into a logic subsystem and the resultant used to modify the operation of the total system.
• Performs pretest, operational (functional), or final testing of electronic systems, components, or subassemblies. Prepares/executes effective training plans to maximize training and complies with security procedures, regulations and policies.
• (Electro-Environmental) Installs, inspects, modifies, repairs, services, replaces, adjusts and overhauls complex integrated electrical/environmental systems, both on and off equipment, to include, but not limited to: oxygen, fire suppression, air conditioning, pressurization, ice/rain protection, bleed air systems, avionics cooling systems, cargo/mission handling, missile interface units/bomb doors, anti-skid systems, landing gear, ignition, stall warning, flight control, AC/DC power supply and distribution, Integrated Drive Generator, fuel and explosive systems.
• Advises engineering personnel on the operation and maintenance effects of proposed Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO) and/or modifications on new or existing equipment.
• Utilizes safety practices and tool control procedures following established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean work area.
