MRI Technologist - Breast Imaging | Full Time Permanent - Direct Hire

We are seeking a full-time, permanent MRI Technologist to join the High-Risk Breast Imaging team in Rochester, NY. This in-person role provides MRI services to high-risk and newly diagnosed patients in a high-volume, patient-focused environment, with a dedicated breast MRI assignment and collaboration with radiologists. The technologist reports to the chief technologist. Breast MRI experience is preferred but not required; training is provided through radiologist-led instruction and preceptorship with a senior technologist. Compensation is $38.00–$48.00 per hour based on experience, plus benefits.

 

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic breast MRI examinations and support the full high-risk breast imaging workflow.
• Assist with MRI-guided breast biopsies and collaborate closely with radiologists.
• Review procedures with patients and provide attentive patient care throughout examinations.
• Complete MRI safety screening, review health histories, and assess implanted-device compatibility.
• Establish IV access, administer injections as authorized, and position patients for examinations.
• Maintain accurate patient charts and documentation.
• Respond appropriately to patient emergencies and maintain a safe, compliant environment.
• Complete MRI examinations efficiently in a high-volume setting while troubleshooting technology and equipment issues.

 

Required Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in MRI technology.
• Completion of an accredited radiologic technology or MRI program.
• Current state MRI technologist license or radiologic technology license.
• Current CPR certification.
• Knowledge of magnetic resonance imaging, MRI safety screening, breast MRI, patient care, communication, and emergency response.
• Strong communication, customer service, and basic computer skills.
• Ability to work independently, multitask, maintain attention to detail, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Breast MRI experience.
• Injection certification.
• Experience with EHR and PACS.
