Principal Senior Civil Engineer
Brighton, MI
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee civil engineering projects from conception to completion.
- Develop and review engineering designs, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Mentor and supervise junior engineers and technical staff.
- Contribute to business development efforts and maintain client relationships.
- Implement and maintain quality control processes.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Present at board meetings with community leaders and manage relationships with customers, businesses, and community leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Michigan or the ability to obtain one.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with at least 6 years in a senior or leadership role.
- Proficiency in CAD software, Civil 3D, and other relevant engineering tools.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and local/state regulations.
- Excellent project management and leadership skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience with public infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage own projects with support and guidance accessible.
