Description Oversee all aspects of the painting work process while ensuring quality and production standards. Job Summary Oversee all aspects of the painting work process while ensuring quality and production standards. Essential Functions Paint beams properly and ensure no runs in the paint for a clean finish. Prepare beams for painting by cleaning properly. Supervise the work of the Painter Helper. Maintain painting equipment and notify supervisor of any malfunctions or issues. Clean airless spray rig as needed to maintain equipment. Maintain compliance with all Red Dot Corporation policies, procedures and guidelines. Maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements. Perform wet mil test to ensure proper thickness of paint. Maintain and wear proper respiration equipment. Perform special assignments and other duties as required. Complete and submit daily usage sheets on paint and paint thinner. Non-essential Functions Support safety and productivity improvement projects for fabrication shop. Must be able to operate necessary equipment as outlined. Must understand labeling requirements for all material. Must be able to operate all equipment safely. Must be trained to Red Dot’s safety manual. Experience and Education High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred. One year of painting experience required; five years experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requires ability to hear and receive verbal instructions, communicate with people in situations with some background noise. Requires ability to concentrate on fine detail with frequent interruption; ability to focus attention on tasks for 10-20 minutes at a time on a continuous basis, 20-60 minutes on occasion. Requires ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff. Requires ability to work under some supervision. Requires physical capability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 100 pounds frequently. Requires ability to work in a shop environment where it is noisy. Requires bending, stooping, and standing to operate machine throughout shift. Sufficient good health to properly discharge duties required. Requires ability to paint and operate airless spray rigs. Work deals mostly with areas such as reading data and prints, visual inspection involving small details. Although important, depth perception and field of vision (peripheral) are not as critical as the ability to distinguish small details and markings very near to the observer. #J-18808-Ljbffr
