MATERIALS HANDLER

Summary You will serve as a Materials Handler at NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR PUGET SOUND. Responsibilities Receiving, issuing, handling, selecting, and preparing supplies, equipment, and materials for shipment. Segregating, storing, stowing, inventorying, and documenting the movement and storage of supplies, equipment, and materials, including hazardous materials, in accordance with prescribed regulations. Performing inspections of incoming shipments to check for damage and documenting discrepancies. Reading shipping and tracking documents. Using computer applications to maintain required data. Performing consolidation, rotation, or relocation of stored items as directed. Complying with prescribed proper handling and storage procedures. Operating forklifts and material handling equipment. Qualifications Applicants must demonstrate the ability to perform the full range of tasks of a Materials Handler through experience and training. The qualification emphasis is on quality of experience rather than length of time. At least two points on the screen‑out element(s) for minimum eligibility. Qualifying experience in tasks listed in the responsibilities and screen‑out element.
