About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 19:00 - 07:00 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, NIH Stroke Scale Must-Have: - Advanced skills in Med Surg nursing - Ability to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation Description: Traveler will be scheduled in accordance with facility policy. Traveler is expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees. The unit currently has 30 beds (when opened fully in March/April) and is currently at 18 with renovations in process. Patient ratios are 6-7:1. The unit follows a team nursing approach with techs available on the unit. Unit staffing includes a Unit Secretary and a tech on day shift, and strive to have a free Charge Nurse to support the team. Standard equipment for Med Surg is utilized. Documentation system used is Meditech. Scheduling requirements include working 4 weekend shifts every 4-week scheduling period. Floating to like units may be required as needs dictate. Hourly safety rounds must be performed, along with bedside shift reports with patients. BLS and NIH Stroke Scale certifications are required; certifications can be obtained prior to starting. Dress code requires navy color uniform. Unit guidelines and policies are available for review.
