Instrument / Analyzer Technician

Overview Join our INVISTA Orange, TX site as an Instrument and Analyzer Technician (I/A). You will collaborate on turnaround and outage activities, routine preventive maintenance, and root-cause analyses on a 4/10 schedule with overtime as needed. Our Team Our maintenance team includes skilled technicians across Electrical, Instrument, Mechanical, and Pipefitting disciplines reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor. The team works closely with Operations, Reliability, Process Engineering, and Safety groups and emphasizes safety-first, teamwork, technical excellence, and timely execution. What You Will Do Troubleshooting and repair of process analyzers, various instrumentation, valves, and electrical equipment Scheduling for instrument, electrical, or analyzer systems Developing new procedures and updating existing procedures Supporting operations with the startup and shutdown of operating units Performing routine preventive maintenance and repairs Collaborating with operations for knowledge sharing and building team capability Providing support for DCS controls related to analyzers and instrumentation Developing recommendations for upgrading instrumentation, electrical equipment, and analyzers Maintaining accurate inspection and calibration reports and associated documentation Performing root-cause analyses on equipment failures and recommending necessary preventive or corrective maintenance steps to ensure reliable equipment Reaching out to third-party vendors for parts and service Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) 5+ years of instrumentation and/or analyzer experience in a manufacturing or industrial facility Experience troubleshooting, testing, and inspecting equipment such as process valves, instrumentation, analyzers, or electrical equipment Physical Requirements Required to wear any or all of the following PPE: safety glasses, hearing protection, goggles, hard hats, FRC, acid suits, breathing air, gloves, safety boots, respirators, ACR Flash suits, and encapsulated suits; PPE use follows the Job Safety Analysis for the task Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs Ability to work in hot, cold, and inclement climate conditions Ability to work in confined spaces with supplied breathing air and congested areas Ability to climb stairs, ladders, ladders on vessels and columns, and ladders associated with scaffolds in excess of eighty feet Availability to be on call What Will Put You Ahead Associate degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Analyzer, or Process Technology Experience facilitating Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode Cause Analysis Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) such as SAP Experience with CEMS or gas chromatographs Additional Information This role is subject to a pre-hire physical abilities test.
